Ratan emphasizes innovation for accelerated crop yield

Agartala, 15th March 2024 :    Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath today emphasized the importance of producing more crops in less time using innovative technologies in agriculture.

“Self-reliance of farmers is one of the primary goals of the present government. For this purpose, agricultural subdivisions are being formed in every block of the state. Emphasis is placed on utilizing innovative technologies in agriculture to increase productivity,” said Minister Nath.

Minister Ratanlal Nath made these remarks while inaugurating the Agricultural Development Research and Training Center in Korbook today. The construction of this agricultural development research and training center building has incurred an expenditure of Rs 1 crore 70 lakh 50 thousand.

Additionally, Agriculture Minister Nath inaugurated the Shilachari primary rural market today. An amount of 60 lakh rupees has been spent on the construction of this market.

During the event, Minister Nath highlighted the distribution of modern agricultural machinery with subsidies to encourage farmers to adopt improved practices. He also mentioned various schemes and services such as Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fosal Bima Yojana, and Soil Health Card, which are provided for the welfare of farmers. Furthermore, he noted the use of drone technology in agriculture to efficiently spray pesticides in a shorter period.

The minister also emphasized the increased scope of organic farming in the state. Additionally, he mentioned the adoption of solar-powered irrigation for year-round cultivation of agricultural land, indicating the government’s efforts to enhance farmers’ income.

On the occasion, MLA Sanjay Manik Tripura expressed optimism that the inauguration of the Agricultural Development Research and Training Center would benefit the farmers of the Korbook area in future farming endeavors. He urged farmers to take advantage of the training center to enhance their production capabilities.
