Ratan Lal Nath lays foundation stone for modern agricultural market in Teliamura

Agartala, 8th February 2024:  Ratan Lal Nath, the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare of the state government, laid the foundation stone for a new building of a modern agricultural produce market in Teliamura on Thursday. The new building will have multi-dimensional facilities to cater to the needs of the farmers and traders of the sub-division.

The minister was accompanied by Kalyani Saha Roy, the Chief Whip of Tripura Legislative Assembly, and other dignitaries from the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Teliamura Agri-Produce Market Committee, Teliamura Merchant Association, and Teliamura Municipal Council.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was held at Teliamura Agricultural Produce Market at around 4 pm. The minister said that the new building will play a supporting role in farmers’ welfare in the coming days. He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to increase the income of farmers and provide them with all kinds of facilities.

He said that most of the people of the country depend on agriculture and the farmers have a big hand in the development of the country. He said that the central and state governments have launched new schemes to strengthen the hands of farmers and many more are planned in the coming days.

The Chief Whip also expressed her happiness over the fulfillment of the long-term demands of the farmers and traders of Teliamura sub-division. She said that the new building will not only benefit the farmers but also enhance the growth and beauty of Teliamura city.
