RBI General Manager attends financial inclusion saturation camp at Kakraban

Agartala, 31st October 2025:  As part of the nationwide Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign, Surendra Nidar, General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), attended a special camp held at Rani village under Kakraban R.D. Block in Tripura on Friday. The programme, organized by Punjab National Bank (PNB) in collaboration with Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited (BAPCL), aimed to extend banking and financial services to rural households and strengthen financial inclusion at the grassroots level.

During his address, Mr. Nidar encouraged villagers to take full advantage of the facilities and enrol in various government-backed financial schemes. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that every household in rural India is connected to formal banking services for economic empowerment and financial security.

The event also witnessed the participation of Rituraj Krishna, Circle Head of PNB; Sudip Majumder, Managing Director of BAPCL; Farukul Islam, CEO of BAPCL; and several other dignitaries and officials. They highlighted the pivotal role of such initiatives in bridging the financial gap between urban and rural India.

The Department of Financial Services (DFS), under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, successfully conducted the Three-Month Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign from July 1 to September 30, 2025, across the country. Covering over 2.70 lakh Gram Panchayats and urban local bodies, the campaign ensured last-mile access to essential banking and financial services.

The drive focused on saturating enrolments under major social security and financial inclusion schemes including the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and the Atal Pension Yojana (APY). Nationwide, more than 83.10 crore enrolments were recorded under the Jan Suraksha schemes, offering affordable premiums and extensive protection coverage. The campaign also prioritized re-KYC of pending savings accounts, digital fraud awareness, and settlement of unclaimed deposits.

The Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign stands as a testament to the Government of India’s unwavering commitment to empower every citizen through accessible and inclusive banking services. The participation of RBI officials and partner institutions like PNB and BAPCL underscores the collaborative effort required to achieve holistic financial growth.
