Agartala, August 23, 2023: On the charge of job scam, residents of the Paschim Duranta Para, Rangmala in Charilam block locked Anganwadi Kendra on Wednesday morning.

Sharmila Debbarma was working as a helper for five years after the death of her mother Manjurani Debbarma. It is learned that the deceased Manjurani Debbarma gave her land for the Duranta Para Anganwadi Kendra and in return Manjurani Debbarma was given a job as a helper in that Anganwadi Kendra.

After the death of Manjurani five years back, her daughter Sharmila Debbarma was working in the Anganwadi Kendra as a helper. Suddenly, without the knowledge of Sharmila, a new helper named Kiranmala Debbarma was appointed by the local leaders of the SMC committee. Sharmila and residents have accused for employment scam and the Kendra has been locked. Sharmila said that the Anganwadi Kendra will remain locked until a proper investigation is conducted.

After receiving the information about the incident, the Bishramganj police station staff came and gave a message to ensure that the education system of the children continues. Besides, they will discuss the matter with District Social Education Officer Uttam Kumar Das, the police said.

However, the people of the entire village came together to lock the Anganwadi Kendra because the first claimant as a helper is Sharmila Debbarma. How does Rangmala Village take such a decision that the people of the village including Sharmila do not understand. Sharmila has been working as a helper at this Anganwadi Kendra for five years. Sharmila along with the local residents cannot understand why Kiranmala Debbarma was appointed as a helper after knowing everything. The people of the village including Sharmila demand that she should be appointed as a helper.
