Agartala, 27th October 2025:  Residents of Matinagar have submitted a formal deputation to Amtali Police Station today, demanding stringent action against four alleged drug traffickers operating in the area. The community also called for an impartial investigation into the recent suspension of a police constable, whom they claim has been wrongfully implicated.

According to the deputation, locals allege that the constable was deliberately framed in connection with an incident that occurred yesterday. They assert that the individuals who filed complaints against him are themselves long associated with drug trafficking and brokerage in the region. “An honest officer has been sacrificed to shield the real culprits,” one resident stated.

The deputation urges the administration to conduct a neutral inquiry into the matter. Residents emphasized that if the constable is found guilty, legal action should follow. However, if proven innocent, they demand his immediate reinstatement.

The incident has sparked tension across Matinagar, with public outrage mounting over the unchecked influence of drug networks and the controversy surrounding the police officer’s suspension.

Amtali Police Station officials confirmed receipt of the deputation and assured that the matter would be escalated to higher authorities for review.
