RO & DM of Dhalai district Saju Vaheed awards certificates to newly elected Zilla Parishad members

Agartala, 13th August 2024:  The Returning Officer and District Magistrate of Dhalai District Saju Vaheed on Tuesday issued certificates to the newly elected candidates of the Dhalai Zilla Parishad. The ceremony took place at the District Magistrate’s office, where the atmosphere was filled with a sense of accomplishment and celebration.

The Dhalai Zilla Parishad comprises nine seats across three block areas, recently concluded its elections as part of the three-tier Panchayat elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates secured an impressive victory, winning unopposed in six out of the nine seats. The remaining three seats, located in two constituencies under the Durga Chaumuhani block and one constituency under the Salema block saw competitive elections.

Following the announcement of the election results on Monday, it was confirmed that BJP candidates emerged victorious in all three contested constituencies. This clean sweep resulted in the BJP securing all nine seats of the Dhalai Zilla Parishad, marking a significant achievement for the party in the region.

During the certificate distribution ceremony, District Magistrate and Returning Officer Saju Vaheed extended his heartfelt congratulations to the winners. He commended their dedication and expressed his optimism for the future governance of the Dhalai Zilla Parishad. The newly elected members were seen receiving their certificates with pride, ready to embark on their journey to serve the community.
