Agartala, 6th April 2026: A tragic road accident on Sunday night claimed the life of a young man and left his elder brother critically injured in the Kumarghat police station area.
The deceased has been identified as Pinku Mishra (30), a resident of Purba Kanchanbari village under Kumarghat. His elder brother, Sinku Mishra, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Hospital.
According to police sources, the two brothers were traveling on a motorcycle when a speeding goods-laden Bolero vehicle collided head-on with them in the Purba Kanchanbari area. Both were rushed to the hospital immediately, where doctors declared Pinku Mishra dead on arrival.
News of the accident cast a pall of grief across the locality. Local MLA Bhagaban Chandra Das visited the bereaved family, paid his respects to the deceased, and assured support to the grieving household.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident. The sudden loss has plunged the entire Purba Kanchanbari area into mourning, with residents expressing shock and sorrow over the fatal accident.
