Agartala, June 12, 2023: A deputation was given to the MD of TFDPC on Monday at the initiative of Bharatiya Janata Rubber Mazdoor Sangh on 12-point charter of demands including wage hike. On this day, the workers and supporters of Bharatiya Janata Rubber Mazdoor Sangh first marched in front of the office of the MD of TFDPC. From there, a delegation went to the office of the MD of TFDPC and handed over the memorandum to the MD.
After the deputation, the state president of Bharatiya Janata Rubber Mazdoor Sangh said that the daily wages of rubber workers should be at least Rs 500. Layoffs should be stopped. New rubber plantations should be developed. All government and private workers working in rubber plantations should be provided with free insurance and labour card. Other demands were also raised.
