Agartala, 7th September 2026 : Tension prevailed at the Trauma Centre of GB Pant Hospital after a patient allegedly became agitated and entered the operation theatre (OT), causing damage to hospital property.
The patient, identified as Jiban Bauri allegedly went on a rampage inside the Trauma Centre OT. According to reports, hospital beds, doors and windows, and even electrical boards were damaged during the incident.
The patient also allegedly hurled stones at people present at the spot, creating panic and chaos inside the hospital premises.Private security personnel reportedly struggled to bring the situation under control. After nearly an hour of efforts and a prolonged physical struggle, the security guards managed to restrain and control Bauri.
The incident caused considerable disruption at the Trauma Centre, raising concerns over security and the safety of patients, attendants and medical staff inside the hospital.
