Rupaichhari and Kumarghat bags National Awards on Panchayat Day

Agartala, 8 April: In recognition of exemplary work for the welfare of the people, two more awards are coming to the hands of the Panchayat Department in the hands of the present government.

Kumarghat Block Advisory Committee is getting the ‘Nanaji Deshmukh Best Panchayat Satta Vikas Award’ in recognition of its unique work in the panchayat state system. Apart from this, Bagmara village committee under Rupaichari RD block of Sabroom  sub-division of South district is being awarded as the Special Carbon Neutral Panchayat Award.

Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha announced this news through social media on Saturday. The Chief Minister also informed the people of the state that on April 24, National Panchayat Raj Day, President Draupadi Murmu will deliver this award to the appropriate department in New Delhi. The Kumarghat Block Advisory Committee would be awarded 1.50 crores on that day. The Chief Minister stated that these awards are evidence of the state government’s dedication to the overall development of the state’s overwhelming majority. The Chief Minister thanked the Panchayat Department and all Panchayat representatives on this important award.

Incidentally, during the tenure of the current Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, Jal Jeevan Mission received the title of excellence from the Central Government. Apart from this, Agartala city has received one of the best awards among the small cities of the country under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (City) scheme.
