Sambhu demands stoppage of Agartala-Silchar Express at Manu, meets transport minister

Agartala: March 20. BJP MLA Sambhu Lal Chakma today met the Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury demanding  for making arrangement through competent authority for Haltage of Silchar-Agartala  and Agartala-Silchar Express at Manu Railway Station for the benerfits of all people under Longtharai Valley Sub-Division.

While meeting with the Minister Chowdhury, MLA Chakma has submitted a memorandum in which he said, “I would like to request you that we are receiving hundreds of request from the public in Longtharai Valley Sub-Division for making arrangement for haltage of Silchar Express train at Manu railway station for the larger interest of all people under Longtharai Valley Sub-Division. The services were available in this regard before Covid-19 and due to some unavoidable circumstances on request from administration the haltage programme of Silchar Express train was stopped at Manu railway station”.

He further informed that a letter has already been communicated by Sub-Division administration SDM Longtharai Valley for haltage of Silchar Express at Manu Railway Station to the General Manager of N. F. Railway.

“I would therefore request you to take up the matter with the concerned authorities, so, that there is haltage of Silchar Express train at Manu railway station for the larger benefit of thousands of people in Longtharai Valley Sub-Division. This is for your kind information and to help the people of Longtharai Valley in this regard”, the memorandum added.

Later, Minister Chowdhury on his Facebook wrote, “Young MLA of BJP from Chawmanu Constituency Sambhu Lal Chakma made a courtesy visit to hand over a charter of demand”.
