BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 2nd February 2026 :   Sanitation workers at IGM Hospital in Agartala staged a protest today, alleging non-payment of wages for several months. The demonstration, held within the hospital premises, has reportedly disrupted some services at Tripura’s second-largest referral hospital.

To address the situation, the hospital’s Medical Superintendent (MS) convened a meeting with the protesting workers. Responding to the call, the sanitation staff gathered in the hospital compound to discuss their grievances.

Workers stated that the meeting was aimed at resolving issues related to pending salaries and other demands. They warned that if the talks failed to produce a solution, the agitation would intensify in the coming days.

Meanwhile, tensions ran high around the hospital premises as the protest continued. To prevent any untoward incidents during the meeting, the administration deployed heightened security measures across the hospital campus.
