Santana visits bereaved family, hands over Rs 4 lakh relief

Agartala, 4th July 2026:  Tripura Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma on Saturday visited the residence of eight-year-old Leena Chakma in the Defachara area under the Pecharthal Assembly constituency to express condolences to her family following the child’s tragic death in a drowning incident.

Describing the incident as deeply heartbreaking, the minister said the untimely demise of such a young child was difficult to accept. She met the bereaved family members and conveyed her heartfelt sympathies, assuring them of her support during their time of grief.

“No words can truly ease the immense pain of losing a child. I stand with the family in this hour of sorrow,” Santana Chakma said.

As a measure of financial assistance, the minister handed over a sanction memo of Rs 4 lakh to the family. The relief amount has been sanctioned from the Disaster Management Fund to help the bereaved family cope with the difficult circumstances.

The minister prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and strength for the grieving family to endure the irreparable loss.
