Agartala, February 22, 2023: There are two assembly constituencies in Santirbazar sub-division in the assembly elections. These constituencies are 36-Santirbazar assembly constituency and 38-Jolaibari assembly constituency.
Among these two constituencies, Santirbazar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Abedananda Baidya is in charge of Santirbazar Assembly Constituency as its Returning Officer and Bipul Das, Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Santirbazar Sub-Division is in charge of Jolaibari Assembly Constituency.
The assembly elections were conducted smoothly under the charge of two returning officers. There were a few scattered incidents in the Santirbazar assembly constituency. So far, no untoward incident has took place.
Santirbazar sub-divisional administration is constantly conducting various programs in the event of emergency. After the election, he held meetings with members of various political parties and administrative level people.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Abedananda Baidya and Additional Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bipul Das are visiting various places of Santirbazar sub-division at night time. The main objective is to count the votes to prevent any untoward incident. At present, the EVMs are locked in the strong room in the office of the sub-divisional magistrate of the two assembly constituencies under tight security.
SDM Abedananda Baidya has arranged for the representatives of various political parties to guard the EVM machines in the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office, in which the display has been installed. In this display, the EVMs are secured but its CC camera footage can be seen by the representatives of various political parties. In short, the sub-district administration is taking strict measures regarding the elections.
