Sarada Sangha distributes clothes to tea plantation workers ahead of ‘Durgotsava’

Agartala, 5th October 2024:   In a heartwarming gesture ahead of the upcoming Durgotsava, the Sarada Sangha Dharmanagar branch distributed clothes among the labour families of Dakshin Ganganagar tea plantation. The distribution ceremony took place this morning at the Durga Mandap of Ganganagar Tea Garden.

The event was attended by Sarada Sangha Dharmanagar branch president Champa Sharma, secretary Nilima Deb and Dakshin Ganganagar Gram Panchayat Pradhan Jaya Shukla Baidya along with other local representatives.

Champa Sharma highlighted the organization’s commitment to social welfare, stating, “Sarada Sangha Dharmanagar branch undertakes various social programs every year. Distributing new clothes to the women workers of the tea plantations on the eve of the Sharad festival is part of our ongoing efforts.” She acknowledged the limited number of donations this year but assured that efforts would be made to reach more people in the future.

In addition to clothing, several food items were distributed among women and children from every ward of South Ganganagar village. The event brought much joy to the local community, with smiles and gratitude evident among the women and children.

The Sarada Sangha Dharmanagar branch president, secretary and other members were actively involved in the day’s activities, ensuring the successful execution of the program.
