Sardar Patel was the true architect of India’s unity: MP Rajib Bhattacharjee

Agartala, 31st October 2025:  In commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, widely revered as the “Iron Man of India,” National Unity Day was observed today with a massive “Ekta March” organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s urban and rural district committees.

The march commenced from Chandrapur ISBT and concluded at Ashram Chowmuhani, drawing participation from a wide spectrum of party leaders and dignitaries. Among those present were BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee, MLA Bhagaban Das, BJP Urban District President Asim Bhattacharjee, Agartala Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta, MLA Kalyani Roy, Councillor Sukumar Saha, and several key functionaries from the Panchakhyarpur Mandal.

Addressing the gathering, Rajib Bhattacharjee paid tribute to Patel’s legacy, stating, “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was the true architect of India’s unity. His pivotal role in integrating princely states into the democratic framework of the nation is etched in golden letters in history.”

He further emphasized the current government’s commitment to national cohesion, saying, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people of India are advancing with renewed vigor on the path of unity and solidarity. It is during this government’s tenure that Sardar Patel has been accorded the respect he truly deserves — a matter of pride for the entire nation.”
