Agartala, 11th March 2026: Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das today inspected the ongoing construction of a concrete bridge over the Manu River connecting Indira Colony and Saidabari in Fatikroy, being built at a cost of Rs 2.80 crore.
The minister visited the construction site along with officials of the Rural Development Department, Panchayat public representatives and local residents to review the progress of the work and assess its quality.
Speaking during the inspection, Das said the government is committed to ensuring that development projects are implemented with proper quality and completed within the stipulated time.
“The construction of a concrete bridge over the Manu River from Indira Colony to Saidabari in Fatikroy is underway at a cost of Rs 2.80 crore. Today, I inspected the construction work along with officials of the Rural Development Department, Panchayat public representatives and local residents and checked whether the quality of the work is good,” the minister said.
He further added that instructions have been given to the concerned officials to speed up the construction process. “I have directed the officials of the department to complete the bridge work quickly so that people can start benefiting from it at the earliest,” Das stated.
Highlighting the significance of the project, the minister said the bridge would play an important role in improving connectivity between the two areas and supporting the local economy.
“I believe that the construction of this bridge will benefit the common agricultural people of the area in terms of business as well as strengthen the relationship between the people of the two areas,” he added.
Local residents expressed hope that the bridge would ease transportation and help farmers and traders move their agricultural produce more efficiently, thereby boosting economic activities in the region.
