SC Welfare minister visits Girls’ Hostel; Inquires about problems

Agartala, April 10, 2023: SC Welfare minister Sudhangshu Das visited the SC Girls’ Hostel adjacent to Jagannath Temple in the capital city on Monday.

On this day, he visited the hostel along with the Secretary Abhishek Chandra, Director Santosh Das and officials of the department. He also interacted with the students in the hostel. Besides, the minister looked into other arrangements including the kitchen in the hostel. During the visit, the minister noticed various problems in the hostel.

After the visit, Das told reporters that the main purpose of visiting the hostels is to solve the infrastructural or educational defects quickly. He said that he had also inquired whether the students are facing any problem internally because there are many families who are financially weak and their children are sent to study in schools by arranging accommodation in these hostels.

But the main aim of the department is that they can get established in life by coming to hostels and getting government facilities.

SC Welfare minister Das visited the hostel on Monday and said that two problems have been noticed. He will solve these issues quickly.

After the visit, the minister also said that sports are necessary for the mental and physical development of students. The office will take necessary action for these.

Apart from this, the students of this hostel will look for the special contribution they can make in the cultural field in the future. Now it remains to be seen how much the problem of hostels is solved in the coming days.
