Agartala, 18th January 2026: A bus belonging to Delhi World Public School met with an accident on the VIP Road at Goalabasti in the capital while returning from a picnic, leaving several people injured today evening. According to details of the incident, as it was a Sunday holiday, picnic outings were taking place across various areas since morning.
In the evening, the Delhi World Public School bus (registration number TR 08 1241) was returning from a picnic when it reached the Goalabasti area. At that point, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing the bus to crash into the road divider. Several passengers were injured in the accident. Local pedestrians immediately rushed to the spot and helped rescue the injured. Upon receiving information, police from NCC Police Station and fire brigade personnel arrived at the scene and arranged for the injured to be taken to hospital for treatment.
However, allegations have surfaced that after the rescue operation, it was found that most of the occupants of the bus were in an intoxicated state. Eyewitnesses believe that excessive recklessness and intoxication may have been the primary reasons behind the accident.
