Scribes blockades road at Udaipur demanding action against police constable’s attack on Journalist

Agartala: September 06. Journalists working in Udaipur today gheraoed RK Pur police station protesting the attack on a journalist by one police constable and demanded immediate arrested of the person.According to the details of the incident, a months ago in Udaipur, a police constable had an argument with journalist named Jasimuddin over an issue and late the police constable had beaten the journalist.

Later the Gomati District Superintendent of Police Shaswat Kumar then transferred the constable to Pitra police station. But this time due to this same incident, Udaipur sub-division journalists once again blocked the road in front of Radha Kishorepur police station. Their demand is not only transfer, but more stringent action should be taken against this constable. Meanwhile, the Additional Superintendent of Police of the district reached the spot but failed to control the situation. Because the journalists demanded that Superintendent of Police Shaswat Kumar himself should come and reassure them. After besieging the Radha Kishorepur police station for two hours, the journalists on duty sat on the national road blockade without getting any assurance.
