Agartala, 14th May 2025: The Sepahijala District Agriculture Deputy Director’s Office organized a voluntary blood donation camp this afternoon. The event took place at the office’s two-storey building in Bishramganj bringing together government employees, farmers and officials in a collective effort to contribute to this humanitarian cause.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Supriya Das Datta alongside Deputy Director of Agriculture and Agricultural Welfare department Gaurasish Das and other senior officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Das Datta highlighted the urgent need for voluntary blood donation, echoing the sentiments of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who consistently advocates for ensuring no patient succumbs due to a lack of blood.
“Blood is not manufactured in any factory. It is created in the human body, and only through voluntary donation can we overcome shortages,” Das Dutta emphasized. She further credited Sepahijala District Magistrate Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal for launching efforts to organize similar donation drives across various government offices, marking a significant shift in the district’s approach.
Addressing the attendees, Deputy Director Gaurasish Das noted that this was the first-ever voluntary blood donation camp organized by the Agriculture Department’s Deputy Director Office. “We are thrilled to see not only government employees but also local farmers stepping forward to participate. This initiative will undoubtedly contribute to replenishing the state’s blood banks in the coming days,” he stated.
The event witnessed great enthusiasm among staff and officials with many expressing their commitment to participating in future camps. Among those actively taking part was Nalchhar Agriculture Superintendent Manish Das, who commended the initiative and urged more government offices to adopt similar efforts.
