Following further interrogation at the police station, they admitted to entering India illegally a few days ago and traveling to New Delhi.”

Malakar further revealed that the group had come to Tripura intending to return to Bangladesh.

The detainees were identified as Md Kabir (37), Tania Begum (35), Md Sakib (6), Sahida (5), Mumin (23), and Ayesa Khatun (70).  “We also recovered several fake Indian ID cards from their possession. During questioning, they claimed to have entered India in search of work,” Malakar added.
