Six held with 970 Bottles of Phensidyl in Agartala Railway Station

Agartala: January 28. In a successful joint operation, the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) conducted a thorough search in the Ran Kamalapati Express, resulting in the detention of six individuals and the seizure of a substantial quantity of contraband.

Officer in charge of GRP Sanjit Sen told reporters that acting on actionable intelligence, the GRP and RPF officials carried out a targeted raid in the Ran Kamalapati Express train, both during departure from Agartala and upon arrival. The operation was aimed at curbing illegal activities, including the transportation of contraband substances and the arrest of illegal migrants.

“During the operation today, six individuals were detained by the authorities. All of them are identified as residents of Bihar. The joint team discovered and seized a total of 970 bottles of Phensidyl, a controlled substance commonly used for recreational purposes. The detained individuals and the seized contraband are currently under the custody of the law enforcement agencies”, he said.
