Six injured, three dead in two separate accident in Tripura

Agartala, 26th October 2025:   The Sepahijala district administration’s alleged negligence continues to have deadly consequences, as two separate accidents within a few hours claimed the lives of several people and left many injured.

On Sunday morning, a severe road accident occurred on the main road in Indira Nagar Colony, Melaghar, Sonamura, leaving six people injured. According to reports, an Eeco vehicle (TR 07 G 0689) driven by Suman Mia of Bishalgarh, Nowapara collided heavily from behind with a passenger auto-rickshaw (TRO7-3320) near Shanitlar. The auto-rickshaw was completely damaged in the collision.

The injured include the auto-rickshaw driver Mainuddin (Banshpukur), Rakesh Saha (Dhanpur), Deepak Saha (Amarpur), Lakhan Das (Bottoli), Ajit Das (Durlabh Narayan), and Suman Mia, who sustained minor injuries. All victims were rescued by local firefighters and taken to Melaghar Hospital, where they are receiving treatment. Eyewitnesses reported that the auto-rickshaw was not at fault in the accident.

On Saturday night, another tragic accident occurred near the petrol pump adjacent to Charilam High School on the Sabroom-Agartala National Highway. Two motorcycles collided head-on, resulting in the deaths of three young men and serious injuries to a young woman.

The deceased have been identified as Indrajit Das, Rakesh Debbarma, and Risha Debbarma, while the injured young woman was referred to GB Hospital due to critical condition. Witnesses rushed to the scene upon hearing the loud crash and helped in the rescue, with the Bishalgarh fire brigade transporting the victims to the hospital.
