Six-Year-Old Boy Assaulted in West Tripura; Three Held

Agartala, 7th  February 2026 :   Tripura Police have taken swift action in a disturbing case involving the physical assault of a six-year-old child in Paresh Colony, under Airport Police Station in West Tripura district. Three women have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The arrests were made after a video showing the assault went viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage. The child was allegedly beaten after being accused of stealing a small amount of money.

Police officials said they immediately took cognizance of the matter, launched an investigation, and arrested the accused within hours. A case has been registered at Airport Police Station.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Dipali Banik (41), Kajli Sarkar (50), and Manti Biswas (35). All three are residents of Paresh Colony in the Bhagalpur area of West Tripura.

According to police sources, the incident is being investigated thoroughly, and authorities are examining all circumstances surrounding the assault. The police reiterated their firm stance against crimes involving minors, stressing that such acts will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
