Agartala, 14th May 2025:  Sabroom subdivision, nestled in Tripura’s lush green South District is emerging as a promising tourism hub. On Wednesday, District Magistrate Mohammad Sajjad P. led an official delegation to the century-old Ludhua Tea Estate to assess its tourism potential. Accompanying him were Sabroom Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shibajyoti Dutta, Rupaichara Block Assistant Development Officer Titu Debbarma, former Sabroom legislator Shankar Roy, and several administrative officials from district and subdivision levels.

Captivated by the tea estate’s natural beauty and verdant landscape, the delegation praised its tranquil ambiance. The district magistrate emphasized Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s vision of establishing Tripura as a key destination on India’s tourism map. As part of this effort, various natural and historical sites across the state are being evaluated for their tourism potential.

Ludhua Tea Estate has emerged as a significant attraction under this initiative. Plans are underway to develop a dedicated tourism center featuring a lake for boating, a scenic roof bridge, and other amenities designed to offer visitors an immersive natural experience.

According to administrative sources, Tripura’s Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury is expected to visit the tea estate soon. If the project materializes, Sabroom will gain recognition not only as a border town but also as a thriving natural tourism destination.

During the visit, the district magistrate also inspected key facilities in Ludhua, including the Eklavya Model School, PM Shri Sabroom Girls’ Hostel, the Ayurvedic hospital, and the Battala Baker Stall. He reviewed the progress of various development initiatives and provided directives to concerned officials.

With its rich heritage, environmental diversity, and growing tourism prospects, Ludhua Tea Estate holds great promise as a future hotspot, a sentiment shared by both district officials and local residents.
