Agartala, March 15: The cleaning workers of South Tripura district hospital at Santirbazar had went for an indefinite strike from Wednesday onwards for not receiving their salaries.
The cleaning workers of any healthcare institution plays a significant role in maintaining the hygiene. Accordingly, the agencies authorized for taking care of these cleaning workers need to be calm and humble towards them.
Since Wednesday morning, a total of 25 cleaning workers have sat down in front of South Tripura district hospital at Santirbazar for an indefinite strike as they are not being paid for months. It is learned that the cleaning workers are constantly working to keep the district hospital clean.
Speaking to media persons here, the cleaning workers complained that the KDS company authorized to pay their salaries are not being paid for almost two and half months. The workers said that they have been working in the district hospital for the past several years and they are still unaware exactly how much their monthly salary is. They also claimed that they will stop work until their demands are met.
Now it is to be seen what kind of steps are taken to fulfill the demands of the cleaning workers in the South Tripura district hospital.
