Speeding bikers leave schoolchildren injured at Panisagar

Date:

Dharmanagar: Dec 05. Fear of reckless youths on motorcycles has gripped students and parents alike, as frequent road accidents continue to endanger lives. The latest incident occurred in front of Baidyabari School on the Jatanbari–Karbook route, where a speeding bike lost control and rammed into two schoolgirls.

The victims were identified as Sangita Reang, a Class I student who sustained serious injuries, and Karina Reang, a Class VII student who was left with minor injuries. Locals reported that the bike, coming at high speed, failed to stop and struck the children directly outside the school premises.

On receiving the news, personnel from the Fire Service Department rushed to the spot and transported the injured students along with the biker and two others to Nutanbazar Rural Hospital for treatment.

The incident has reignited concerns among locals about the menace of rash driving near schools. Baidyabari School in-charge Bholanath Shil stressed the urgent need for legal action against such reckless bikers, urging police authorities to enforce stricter measures to protect students and commuters.
