Agartala, 25th December 2024: The state government is determined to achieve self-sufficiency in the production of milk, meat, and eggs. Minister Sudhanshu Das, who oversees the relevant departments, has been conducting quarterly review meetings to assess progress and implement strategies. On Thursday, a district-level meeting was held at the West Tripura district’s District Magistrate office, chaired by Minister Das.
The meeting was attended by MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, MLA Ratan Chakraborty, Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, officials from the Fisheries Department, Animal Resources Development Department and SC Welfare Department.
Addressing the media, Minister Das stated, “We have reviewed the work of the Fisheries Department, Animal Resources Development Department, and SC Welfare Department over the last three months. This district-based meeting aims to evaluate the extent to which the targets set for the 2024-25 financial year have been met. We are particularly focused on assessing the increase in production of fish, meat, eggs, and milk.”
The minister emphasized the importance of ensuring that the SC Welfare Department’s projects effectively reach the intended beneficiaries. “Our staff has been instructed to prioritize strategies that will enhance production in the future. The success of these initiatives is crucial for the state’s goal of self-sufficiency,” he added.
The state government’s commitment to supporting farmers and improving agricultural output remains strong, with continued efforts to monitor progress and address challenges in achieving their objectives.
