Agartala: August 04. The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) on Thursday has accused the Tripura government for purportedly treating the district council unfairly and for not cooperating.
While speaking in a workshop on ‘Jhum Cultivation’ the Chief Whip of TTAADC Rabindra Debbarma said that the district council has written to the state government many times for help in various matters however no positive reply came from there end.
“The state government is treating the TTAADC administration unfairly. TTAADC has written to the state government for help in various matters. The authorities of various departments of the state government are not cooperating with the TTAADC authorities. The rubber plantation season will end in the next few days. But the state government has not informed anything about the supplying of rubber saplings to the district council”, he alleged.
Later, Deputy Executive Member Animesh Debbarma urged the unemployed to become self-reliant through agriculture and fruit garden cultivation. He said the income of a farmer is much higher now. Besides, he said that the educated unemployed people of Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan are more interested in farming. “Finance for agriculture department for the district council is limited. However financial development of the state is not possible without the agricultural development”, he said.
In the speech of the special guest, Suhail Debbarma, executive member of the Sports and Youth Department, emphasized on the using of modern methods in cultivation.DC Umashankar Debbarma and MDC Ganesh Debbarma. Ranjit Debbarma, chairman of West Zone, presided over. Prashanta Debbarma, Chief Officer of Agriculture Department gave the welcome address. On the occasion, Deputy Chief Executive Member Animesh Debbarma distributed tractors among 32 farmers.
