Students’ brewing anger for non-payment of stipends for two years

Agartala, August 04, 2022: The students of Noagaon Polytechnic College at Dharmanagar complained that they are deprived of getting stipends for last two years.

Being asked about this matter, institute’s principal Prasun Datta said that the list of students’ names had been sent to the office on time, but he could not say anything about why they stipends are not released yet. He said that the entire matter was looked after by Dr Abhik Chowdhury.

When Abhik Chowdhury was asked about this, he reiterated the same as the principal did. The list of names of students is sent by March 31 every year, why it stipends are not being disbursed, he failed to say.

It is to be noted that the college authorities contacted the Higher Education department in this regard because there were complaints from the students and parents that they did not even think of the requirement of the students.
