Road blocked for no electricity for 15 days, 2 year old child died

Agartala, August 04, 2022: Local people of Aralia Gram Panchayat’s ward number 3 blocked Sonamura to Boxanagar road in areas adjacent to Daodharani Madrasa for living without electricity at a stretch for 15 days.

Sources said, the people of Ward No. 6 area of Araliya Gram Panchayat area have been suffering from electricity problem for a long time. But the authorities have no measures to solve the problem. Out of anger, they blocked the road around 10 AM on Thursday. Although there was a long blockade on the other side, the authorities did not meet. Later, the blockade was lifted with the intervention of the police station, sources added.

Meanwhile, a two-year-old child of Alamgir Hossain died after falling into an old water filter in the house of Ward No. 2 under Mainama Panchayat on Thursday morning. After some time, the child’s mother came and found her child had fallen into the filter as his head was submerged in water. The child was immediately shifted to the local hospital where the on-duty doctor declared brought dead.
