Agartala, 27th November 2025: The state-level Dhamail Festival will be held in Bishalgarh this year in the presence of the Chief Minister. The two-day cultural event is scheduled for December 15 and 16 at the newly built Town Hall in Bishalgarh.
A total of 40 teams from every district across the state will participate, with each team comprising 20 performers. Organizers are working to ensure the festival is celebrated on a grand scale.
Preparations began with a meeting at the New Town Hall today at 11 a.m. Local MLA Sushanta Deb has been appointed chairman of the festival committee, under which eight sub-committees have been formed. Each sub-committee has designated chairpersons and conveners to oversee specific responsibilities.
The preparatory meeting was attended by senior officials including the Additional District Magistrate of Sepahijala, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Bishalgarh, municipal leaders, the Panchayat Samiti chairperson, BDOs, officials from various line departments, and representatives of cultural organizations.
Speaking at the meeting, MLA Sushanta Deb said, “This Dhamail Festival is timely for reviving our cultural heritage. Extensive preparations are underway to make the state-level festival a truly grand celebration.”
