State progressing through SHGs and govt focuses for better rural economy, says CM Dr Saha

Agartala, August 31, 2022: Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday said that the development of the state is progressing through Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and the government has taken initiative to take the rural economy further.

Notably, a job fair was held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan in the capital on the initiative of TRLM under the Rural Development department on Tuesday last. There large number of trained youth of the state are selected for employment in various organizations. Chief Minister Dr Saha on Wednesday handed over job offer letters to many youths who were selected through an orientation programme and credit camp organized by Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Saha said “The government has taken various initiatives to provide employment to the unemployed youth of the state. I wish all the best to those youths who received jobs through the fair held yesterday. The state government wants to improve the socio-economic system of mothers and sisters. That is why 33 percent seats have been reserved for women in jobs. No state and country will be strong if the rural areas are not strong.”

Development of Tripura is progressing through SHGs or Self Help Groups. The government has taken the initiative to take the rural economy further. In addition to this, quality products should be produced through self-help groups. So that the products of Tripura are appreciated in other states of the country as well as abroad. In this way it will be possible to build a self-reliant Tripura”, he added.

In the orientation program and credit camp organized by TRLM at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here in the presence of various bank officials, Chief Minister Dr Saha and Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma handed over the bank loan cheques to the representatives of various SHGs of the state. “We hope that these self-help groups can work better for the development of the socio-economic system of the state”, he also added.
