Agartala, February 1, 2024: As the prolonged wait for the Secondary Teachers’ Graduate Test (STGT) results continues, a group of STGT job aspirants gathered once again in a deputation to meet with the director of the education department, urging the swift release of exam results and collective appointments.
The STGT examination, conducted in 2022, has left candidates in limbo for the past 17 months as the education department has yet to make the results public. Despite numerous attempts to seek information from the Teacher’s Recruitment Board Tripura (TRBT), the aspirants claim they have received no response. Adding to their frustration, results for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 1 and TET 2 exams have been published by TRBT, while the STGT results remain elusive.
Expressing their concerns, a candidate stated, “We have approached TRBT several times seeking updates on the STGT results, but it seems that our pleas have fallen on deaf ears. The recruitment process remains closed, and this has significantly affected our career prospects.”
The candidates argue that the government had initially cited legal issues as the reason for the delay in completing the recruitment process. However, they assert that the reported legal obstacles have now been resolved, yet TRBT has not initiated the appointment process.
In light of these frustrations, the STGT aspirants reconvened in a deputation at the TRBT office today, reiterating their demand for the immediate release of exam results. They are also calling for collective appointments to be made promptly, allowing successful candidates to begin their teaching careers without further delay.
The candidates emphasized the importance of transparency in the recruitment process and urged the education department and TRBT to prioritize their concerns, considering the prolonged period of uncertainty they have faced since taking the STGT exam.
