Agartala, 5th August 2026 : Even four months after the declaration of the STGT examination results, the verification process has yet to begin, leaving successful candidates frustrated over the delay in recruitment. On Wednesday, qualified candidates under the Selection Test for Graduate Teachers (STGT) submitted a deputation to the Chairman of the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura, demanding the immediate completion of document verification and publication of the merit list.
Speaking to reporters, representatives of the candidates expressed concern over the prolonged delay in the recruitment process despite clearing the examination. They pointed out that while Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) recruitment has already been completed and successful candidates have joined schools, and the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) has also been conducted twice in recent years, the STGT recruitment process remains incomplete.
The candidates recalled that recruitment for graduate teachers has remained pending for several years. Although the STGT examination was conducted and results were declared around four months ago, no progress has been made regarding scrutiny, document verification or publication of the final merit list, they alleged.
They further stated that whenever representatives approached the TRBT office seeking clarification, they received no definite timeline regarding the next stage of the recruitment process. According to the candidates, they have repeatedly been told to “wait and see,” which has added to their uncertainty.
The deputation also questioned why the STGT recruitment was being delayed when, according to the candidates, there is no legal hurdle affecting the current examination. They urged the authorities to expedite the verification process, publish the merit list without further delay and complete the recruitment process at the earliest so that vacant teaching posts in government schools can be filled.
