Strict Security Measures Mark UPSC Examination Across City Centres

Date:

Agartala, 24th May 2026 :  The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination was held on Sunday at different schools across the city under strict security arrangements and rigorous guidelines. Among the designated centres was Umakanta Academy in the capital city.

Since early morning, a large number of candidates along with their guardians gathered outside the examination venues. Officials in charge of conducting the examination informed that candidates were allowed to enter the centres only between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

Although most aspirants arrived on time, several candidates were seen hurrying to the centres moments before the deadline. Authorities, however, did not permit anyone arriving after 9:00 AM to enter the examination hall. Consequently, many candidates had to return disappointed after failing to report within the stipulated time, leading to brief moments of tension outside some centres.

Security arrangements at the examination venues were notably stringent. Police personnel and security staff were deployed at every centre to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examination. Candidates were subjected to thorough frisking before entry, while electronic devices including mobile phones and smartwatches were strictly banned inside the premises.

Officials stated that all rules were enforced strictly as per UPSC guidelines in order to maintain transparency and fairness in the examination process.
