Agartala, 2nd June 2024: In a distressing turn of events, Krishan Bhowmik, a seventh standard student of Melaghar English Medium School, lost his eyesight three months ago during his annual examinations. The incident has left his family in a state of despair, particularly his father, Ashish Kumar Bhowmik, who is now seeking urgent assistance from the Chief Minister and the state government.
Krishan’s ordeal began when he fell seriously ill during his exams. Upon returning home, he suddenly lost his eyesight, prompting his family to rush him to GB Hospital. Unfortunately, the treatment there proved inadequate, leading the family to seek better medical care in Guwahati and subsequently at a private hospital in Bangalore.
Currently, Krishan is receiving treatment at the private hospital in Bangalore, but his condition remains critical. In addition to losing his eyesight, Krishan has also lost his ability to speak, compounding the family’s anxiety and distress.
Ashish Kumar Bhowmik has exhausted his financial resources in the pursuit of his son’s treatment. Despite his best efforts, Krishan’s condition has not improved, leaving the family in a dire situation. Ashish Kumar Bhowmik, now destitute and helpless, has made a heartfelt plea to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and the state government for assistance in securing the necessary medical treatment for his son.
The local community, aware of the family’s plight, is rallying for support. Ashish Kumar Bhowmik, a resident of the area adjacent to Melaghar Telkajala School, has received vocal support from neighbors and friends who are urging the state authorities to step in and provide the needed aid.
