Student Parliament introduced at PM-SHRI Girls’ School in Sabroom

Agartala, 3rd August 2025:  In an effort to instill leadership qualities and democratic values among students, the PM-SHRI Class XII Girls’ School in Sabroom, South Tripura has launched a ‘Bal Sansad’ (Children’s Parliament) on its campus.

As part of this initiative, students took part in a structured election process to select peers for various positions such as Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and Leader of the Opposition. The elected representatives later convened to discuss school and community development issues and proposed action plans for the future.

Highlighting the educational importance of the initiative, Headmaster Ranjan Debnath stated, “This programme will enhance students’ self-confidence and leadership abilities while teaching them the value of democratic problem-solving.”

The event was met with enthusiasm by the student body. Several students shared that participating in the Bal Sansad helped strengthen their teamwork and deepened their understanding of social responsibilities.
