Students’ academic future at risk amid Tripura University’s mismanagement: AISF

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, 5th June 2025 :  The All India Students Federation (AISF) has raised serious concerns over the delayed semester examinations at Tripura University (Central), warning that hundreds of students, particularly from marginalized communities, risk losing an academic year due to administrative mismanagement.

In a statement issued today, AISF criticized the university authorities for failing to complete semester exams on time, jeopardizing the postgraduate admission process that was originally scheduled to begin in July. The organization described the delay as a “serious institutional failure” that disrupts the educational continuity of students and undermines their fundamental right to education.

AISF further alleged that while Vice-Chancellor Ganga Prasad Prasain holds primary responsibility, faculty members and administrators at various levels share the blame. “There is no fear of disciplinary action, such as transfers or investigations, which leads to officials neglecting their assigned duties,” the statement read.

Calling for radical reforms and stricter accountability measures, AISF demanded that the sixth-semester examinations be completed swiftly without burdening students. Additionally, it urged university authorities to provide special support measures for affected students and issue pending mark sheets for completed courses without further delay.

Students and academic groups have echoed similar concerns, urging immediate intervention to prevent long-term consequences for those awaiting graduation and further education opportunities. The university administration has yet to respond to the allegations.
