Agartala 23rd July 2026: Students from several educational institutions across Tripura gathered near the Circuit House in Agartala on Wednesday to hold a peaceful protest, voicing concern over alleged examination paper leaks and demanding greater accountability from the authorities.
The demonstration, organised by students, saw participants carrying placards and raising slogans seeking transparency in the examination system. Speaking on behalf of the protesters, a student leader maintained that the movement was entirely independent and had no affiliation with any political party.
“We have come together as students because we are deeply concerned about the present situation. Every student here has joined this protest voluntarily, without the support of any political organisation. We are united by a common purpose—to seek answers and accountability over repeated incidents of question paper leaks,” the student said.
The speaker stressed that the protest represented students from different communities, including both Bengali and tribal students, who had assembled under a shared identity.
“Our only identity here is that we are students. The trust we once had in the education system has been shaken. We want the government to explain why this has happened and what steps will be taken to restore our confidence. This peaceful protest is part of our democratic right,” the student added.
The protesters also expressed solidarity with students across the country who have reportedly suffered due to examination-related controversies. Referring to the alleged NEET paper leak issue, they claimed that several students had lost their lives by suicide because of stress and uncertainty arising from examination irregularities. They demanded that responsibility be fixed on those accountable for any lapses.
The students further criticised the alleged use of force against protesters in different parts of the country, claiming that peaceful demonstrations had been met with police action. Calling upon students to raise their voices against injustice, the speaker urged young people not to remain silent in the face of issues affecting their future.
