Agartala, December 12: In anticipation of the upcoming 110th birthday of Adwaita Malla Barman, a significant meeting was convened at the conference hall of Agartala Municipal Corporation. The gathering, attended by SC Welfare minister Sudhangshu Das, Mayor Dipak Majumder, Deputy Mayor Manika Das, and other dignitaries, outlined elaborate plans for the celebration.
Minister Das expressed the importance of commemorating Adwaita Malla Barman’s birthday on January 01. Recognizing him not only as a poet and journalist but also as an enduring source of inspiration, Das emphasized the significance of organizing a special celebration in his honour.
The festivities are set to unfold over three days at Melaghar, featuring state-wide programs paying homage to the iconic figure. The government has taken a keen interest in ensuring the commemoration is marked by special events that appropriately honour the legacy of Aditya Malla Barman.
