Sudhangshu Das inaugurates ‘World Veterinary Day 2023’

Agartala, April 29, 2023: Animal Resource Development minister Sudhangshu Das on Saturday inaugurated the celebration programme of ‘World Veterinary Day 2023’ at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, ARD minister Das praised the commendable jobs done by the veterinarians for looking after those animals in the society which have no way of disclosing their problems as human beings can. The veterinary doctors are considered as best doctors in the society.

In India, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry were combined together as departments before 1990. These two departments plays a key role in growth of GDP of the whole country. This ARD department play a vital role in boosting the economic scenario of rural areas, he added.

Citing one of the happiest benefits of state’s children who are willing to be veterinarians in coming days, ARD minister said that there is a positive signal from the end of union government for setting up of central veterinary university in Tripura.

A virtual meeting is likely to be held soon with union ARD minister P Rupala and the president of Veterinary Council of India in this regard. Once, the meeting is over, it is expected that the foundation stone for setting of central university will be laid soon, he also added.

In this programme, ARD minister Das was accompanied by Principal Secretary BS Mishra and senior veterinary doctors.
