Agartala, 2nd April 2026: Political activities in Dharmanagar have gathered momentum ahead of the upcoming by-election to the Assembly constituency, with leaders and party workers actively campaigning to secure a decisive victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, Jahar Chakraborty.
As part of the intensive campaign, State Minister Sudhangshu Das conducted a door-to-door outreach programme on Thursday, personally visiting households and appealing to voters to support the BJP nominee. During the campaign, the Minister highlighted the developmental initiatives undertaken by the present government and interacted directly with local residents to understand their concerns and expectations.
Speaking to reporters during the campaign, Sudhangshu Das expressed confidence over the party’s prospects in the by-election, saying that the response from the people has been highly encouraging.
He said that while visiting homes across the constituency, the party has witnessed strong enthusiasm among voters, adding that people are eager to see the continuation of welfare schemes and development works under the present government.
“The affection and blessings of the people are clearly with us. Everywhere we are receiving a very positive response. People understand that there is no alternative to BJP for peace, development and prosperity,” the Minister said.
He further stated that the objective of the campaign is not only to seek votes but also to assure every family that the “double engine government” stands with them in every situation.
Referring to BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborty, the Minister said that the people of the constituency are pleased to have a candidate with a clean public image and strong organisational background.
The campaign atmosphere across the constituency has become increasingly vibrant, with BJP workers raising slogans and intensifying outreach efforts in both residential areas and market zones. Party leaders believe that the positive public response indicates a strong mandate in favour of development and a likely landslide victory for the BJP in the upcoming by-election.
