Sudhangshu highlights revolutionary life of Birsa Munda on Janajati Gaurav Diwas

Agartala, 15th November 2025:  The 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, revered as a pioneer of tribal movements and a great patriot, was commemorated in Fatikroy with the observance of Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas.

The event, organized by the Fatikroy Mandal Janajati Morcha, took place at the Jurichhara Bazaar premises and witnessed the participation of local residents along with leaders from various organizations.

Animal Resource Development, Scheduled Caste Welfare and Fisheries minister and local MLA Sudhangshu Das attended as the chief guest. Also present were Unakoti District Janajati Morcha President Purna Mohan Debbarma, Fatikroy Mandal President Tarun Kumar Das, Mandal Janajati Morcha President Lagnamani Reang, and other community leaders.

In his address, Minister Das highlighted the revolutionary life of Birsa Munda, recalling his historic struggle and extraordinary contribution in safeguarding the dignity of the tribal society. He further noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tribal traditions, culture, and glorious history are being revitalized, alongside unprecedented economic and social development that is now visible across the nation.

The program drew a remarkable public turnout, with the entire atmosphere resonating with respect for Birsa Munda and a deep sense of tribal pride.
