Agartala, 2nd September 2025: In a significant boost to rural infrastructure and livestock development, the Tripura Animal Resources Development Department inaugurated a newly constructed Assistant Director’s office building and a pig breeding farm in Hawai Bari, under Teliamura subdivision of Khowai district. The grand ceremony took place on Tuesday at the West Hawai Bari Panchayat Community Hall.
The event was graced by Sudhangshu Das, Minister for Animal Resources Development, Fisheries and Scheduled Caste Welfare, who served as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the facilities. Kalyani Saha Roy, Chief Whip and MLA of Tripura Legislative Assembly attended as the special guest, alongside several departmental officials and distinguished invitees.
During the ceremony, Minister Das symbolically handed over rooster chicks to five beneficiaries, highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing rural livelihoods. “The present state government is prioritizing economic empowerment of the people. Through the Animal Resources Department, we are not only promoting livestock rearing but also strengthening pathways to sustainable income and economic growth,” he said.
He further emphasized that the government’s core objective is to ensure inclusive development by implementing diverse welfare schemes tailored to the needs of ordinary citizens.
MLA Kalyani Saha Roy echoed the sentiment, stating that the new office and pig breeding farm will directly benefit residents of Teliamura and Hawai Bari. Local farmers and community members expressed optimism that the initiative would open up new employment opportunities and usher in a new era for livestock farming in the region.
