Agartala, 22nd September 2025: Animal Resources Development and Social Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das today attended a virtual meeting held at the Secretariat Conference Hall in the presence of Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) and Minister of State S.P. Singh Baghel, along with senior officials from the Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD).
During the meeting, Minister Das underscored the need to strengthen infrastructure, enhance productivity, and provide greater support to farmers and livestock rearers in Tripura.
“The development of the Animal Resources sector is crucial not only for ensuring food security but also for generating livelihoods and supporting rural farmers. We are committed to implementing initiatives that will empower livestock farmers and boost the state’s economy,” said Das.
The discussions revolved around future strategies for sustainable animal husbandry, improved veterinary services, and better facilities for farmers. Special emphasis was laid on the role of modern infrastructure and technology in raising productivity in the sector.
Officials noted that strengthening the animal resources sector would play a pivotal role in livelihood generation, food self-sufficiency, and overall rural development in Tripura.
