Agartala, 23rd November 2025: Tensions flared at IGM Hospital today after sanitation workers staged a protest against a male supervisor accused of physically assaulting a female colleague.
It is reported that the incident took place yesterday when supervisor Biswajit, employed under a private agency allegedly attacked a female supervisor leaving her injured and bleeding. Workers claimed that Biswajit had been harassing female staff for a long time, and the assault triggered widespread anger among the workforce.
This morning, sanitation workers gathered inside the hospital premises, raising slogans and demanding strict action against the accused. They also leveled additional allegations of misconduct against him.
The protesters urged hospital authorities to ensure the safety of female employees and take immediate disciplinary measures. Hospital officials rushed to the spot to pacify the situation and assured workers that appropriate steps would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
