Supriya Das Datta returns in state after attending 57th Commission on Population and Development in USA

Agartala, 6th May 2024 :  The Sabhadipati of Sepahijala district Supriya Das Datta has achieved remarkable recognition and brought honor to both the country and the state. Her tireless efforts in promoting women’s empowerment within the local administration, specifically through the Panchayati Raj system in India, have garnered attention. She had the opportunity to share her valuable insights at the UN’s headquarters in the USA on May 3. Prior to this, she departed for the USA on May 01 and arrived in Delhi from her home on the afternoon of the Sunday last.

Among the three women who received invitations from across the country, Supriya Das Datta stands out. The other invitees include a Panchayat Pradhan from Andhra Pradesh and a female Panchayat Pradhan from Rajasthan. The significant event took place from 1:15 to 2:45 on May 3 at the United Nations Headquarters during the 57th Commission on Population and Development. During this occasion, Supriya Das Datta delivered a valuable speech as a Panchayati Raj Member representing the Government of India.

Upon her return to the state after the ceremony, hundreds of men and women gathered at the MBB airport to give her a historic welcome. State Panchayat Office Director Prasun Dey was also present. The reception, which lasted for quite some time, captivated everyone. Supriya Das Datta has become a prominent figure, with Kamalasagar now capturing the attention of the entire country and our state.
