Sushanta attends ‘Bangla Barsha Baran 1430’ at Birendra Nagar; Bats to remove evil forces

Agartala, April 22: Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, who is also the elected representative of Majlishpur assembly constituency attended the “Bangla Barsha Baran 1430” ceremony organized by the alumni of Birendra Nagar Higher Secondary School on Saturday afternoon.

In an auspicious way, Chowdhury inaugurated the programme and said, Bengali New Year 1430 has appeared with a message of hope and success. New Year is a symbol of prosperity and new life.

“Leaving the old year behind, our entire state is ushering in the new year. People of all classes and professions are welcoming the new year with the call of the new. Every New Year ceremony is decorated with the songs of nature bathed in soft light, love of humanity and patriotism and self-awakening”, he added.

He also said that the glorious poetry of Boishakh is embedded in the heartbeat of Bengalis. Baisakh comes with a new message, removing the weariness, fatigue, dirt and all the evil forces of the old days. Today’s event welcomed the new year in a joyful atmosphere.

“This annual festival includes self-identification of Bengalis, rise of statehood and development of ethnicity and culture. The fact that ‘Barsha Baran’ festival is considered as the festival of the life of Bengali culture and tradition can be realized from the extent of the celebration of this festival and the great enthusiasm of the people”, he also added.

Tourism minister expressed the hope that with everyone’s efforts, we will move forward by fighting the evil forces, let it be the pledge of all of us on the day of this ‘Barsha Baran’ celebration. Wishing that Bengali New Year 1430 will bring more harmony and prosperity in everyone’s life by erasing the gloom, sorrow, rust, ugliness and evil of the past, leaving behind the ugliness and evil, Sushanta Chowdhury praised the alumni of Birendra Nagar Higher Secondary School for organizing such a new year celebration.

Jirania Nagar Panchayat Chairman Ratan Das, School Headmaster Shankar Saha and other dignitaries were present at the event on Saturday.
